Our Fertilization Program is Different

Just because a company applies only organic fertilizers to a site does not mean they are using organic principles. In fact, they may be ignoring a cornerstone of organic practice, which is testing the soil and applying only what the site needs.

Tender Earth’s first visit to a new site will consist of taking a soil sample and applying a best-practice product depending on the time of year and site conditions. In spring, this will typically be corn gluten meal. In the summer or fall it will focus on feeding existing microbes or adding new life to your soil.

We’ll send your soil sample into a lab, interpret the results so that if you don’t have a degree in soil science you’ll still understand what is going on under your feet, and create a fertility plan for the next two or three years.

At that point, you’ll get an estimate for the rest of the season. You can also, at that point, look  at the custom program made for your site and decide that the program Tender Earth is recommending is something you can do on your own. After all, we’re not going to be building a plan with products you’d be afraid to handle.
